Devotees throng Rani Kothi as ISKCON marks its Golden Jubilee ‘Janmashtami’

Nagpur: Devotees from ISKCON revered with the divine vibes as they soaked into the chants of Lord Krishna! Like every year Janmashtami is marked by loads of fervor and tons of vibrant enthusiasm evident among the bhakts of the Supreme God of flute – Lord Krishna. Amid all the revelry and chants of Jai Kanhaiyalal Ki…, Iskcon touched the height of devotion at Krishna Janmostsav celebrated at Rani Kothi with enthusiasm. ISKCON Food for life project Co- Ordinator Rajendra Raman said that as this is Golden Jubilee (50th anniversary) of the installation on Iskcon, this year Iskcons are celebrating it on large scale all over the world.

Iskcon has organized a two-day celebration which includes various cultural and educational programmes for all the devotees. The devotees bathed the idols of Krishna with holy waters to perform Abhishekam and dressed them in beautiful clothes. The event followed by Maha Aarti and Maha Abhishek of Lord Krishna.

Large number of devotees from the city thronged Rani Kothi to feel the positive vibes within. The festival is open for all. The organization is looking forward to serve food to about 13 lakh children day in and day out.

This year Loknath Swami Maharaj also graced the ceremony, who is preaching Iskcon worldwide.

Talking to Nagpur Today, Loknath Swami Maharaj highlighted the importance of Janmashtami Mahotsav. He said this celebration is grand like like lord Krishna.

ISKCON is known for its grand Janmashtami celebrations and scores of devotees come to be a part of the vivid ceremony. Devotees were seen dancing and clapping while priests performed prayers. Children too were in celebratory mood as they dressed up as little Lord Krishna.
