Decomposed body of man found in woody area of Sitabuldi Fort

The discovery of a highly decomposed body of a man in the woody area of Sitabuldi Fort created ripples on Tuesday afternoon. The spot is 30 metres away from Manas Chowk in the back side of the Fort. A patrolling team of Defence employees found the rotting body around 1 pm on Tuesday. They immediately alerted the Sitabuldi police. A team of cops reached the spot and started investigation. After Panchnama, the body was sent to government hospital for autopsy.

According to police, the body could be 3-4 days old. A close inspection of the decomposed body has not shown any injury marks.

At present, the cops have registered a case and mounted a thorough probe from all angles. The investigating police are trying to first establish identity of the deceased man. Whether the man was done to death or died due to other causes could not be verified immediately.
