Crime Branch foils dacoity in Sadar, nab 2 members of a gang

Nagpur: Crime Branch Unit 2 of city police on Sunday foiled a dacoity by arresting two members of a gang in Sadar area. Three other members of the gang managed to escape the police net and are being searched.

The Crime Branch Unit 2 police constable Battulal Pandey received a tip off around 7.15 pm on Sunday that some suspicious persons had gathered at a secluded spot near railway track in Khalashi Line. Subsequently, the constable Battulal Pandey along with other staff reached the spot and surrounded the gang. Seeing the approaching cops, the gang tried to escape. The policemen chased and succeeded in nabbing two accused namely Virendra Singh alias Babu Ujjwalsingh Ramgadiya (23) and Sourabh Raj Taywade (20), both residents of Lashkaribagh, Pachpaoli. However, another accused named Achhi Indurkar and two other unidentified accomplices managed to escape the spot. Cops have recovered a big knife, sword, nylon rope, chilli powder from the possession of nabbed accused.

Sadar ASI Ashok Kinnarkar has booked the accused under Sections 399, 402 of the IPC read with Section 4/25 of Arms Act.
