Crime Branch busts sex racket at Arjun Hotel in Ganeshpeth; two arrested, 3 girls rescued

Nagpur.

The Social Security Cell of Crime Branch on Thursday busted a sex racket in Ganeshpeth area and arrested two persons on the charges of forcing girls into flesh trade. Three girls have also been rescued and sent to remand home.

The Crime Branch received a tip-off that a flesh trade is being run at Arjun Hotel/Lodge, situated near Bus Stand in Ganeshpeth. After confirming the information, a team of Social Security Cell raided the Hotel and arrested Manish Baburao Ramteke (21), resident of Sanjay Nagar, Pandhrabodi Slums and Chetan Sarang Satpute (27), resident of Corporation Colony. The team also rescued three girls who were forced into flesh trade with the lure of money. The three girls have been sent to Karuna Remand Home for rehabilitation. Cops have seized cash and other material collectively worth Rs 3,65,000 from the two arrested accused.

An investigation revealed that the accused Manish Ramteke and another person named Sachin used to lure the girls with money and drop them at Arjun Hotel/Lodge by cars. Thereafter, the other accused Chetan Satpute, working as Manager of the Hotel, would provide rooms to the girls for flesh trade. Cops have launched a search for Sachin.

An offence under Sections 3, 4, 5, 7 of Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act 1956 has been registered against the accused.

The raid and further action was carried out by Police Inspector B M Powar, Senior PSI A P Jaipurkar, Assistant PSI Madne, constables Pandurang Nikure, Prakash Sidam, Mukunda, Gopal Vaidya, Woman Police Constables Anita Dhurve, Surekha Sandekar, Nita Davre, Asmita Meshram, Social Worker Nanda Bhoyar and others under the directives of Additional Police Commissioner (Crime) Deepali Masirkar and ACP (Crime) Nilesh Raut.
