Corporators fail to present ‘Caste validity certificates’, membership may be challenged

Nagpur: Around ten corporators elected on reserved seats in Nagpur Municipal Corporation in elections held in February may soon land in trouble as they have failed to submit their Caste Validity Certificates in the NMC administration till now.

The corporators have been issued a last date i.e. 23rd February failing which, their membership may be dissolved.
The elections were held in February.

It is to be mentioned that the elections were held in February this year in which 151 representatives were elected out which 83 belonged to reserved categories. After six months of their election, 73 have successfully submitted the certificates and 10 have failed in doing the same. Office of the Departmental Commissioner will be taking final action on their membership.
