Coolpad Note 3 Plus launched in India at Rs 8,999

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Coolpad has launched Note 3 Plus in India. Priced at Rs 8,999, the smartphone will be available exclusively on Amazon. Customers can buy the phone in White and Gold colour variants. The Note 3 Plus is another variant of Coolpad’s flagship device Note 3.

This Android 5.1 Lollipop-based smartphone comes with 5.5 inch FullHD (1080 x 1920 pixel) display. It has 3GB RAM and is powered by 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek 6753 SoC. The phone also has a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. Despite its fairly affordable price, phone doesn’t skip much on features. It has a fingerprint sensor and comes with inbuilt storage of 16GB, which is expandable up to 64 GB. Measuring 151 x 77 x 9.3mm, it weighs 168 grams and has a 3000mAh battery inside it. It offers dual-SIM functionality (Micro-SIM + Micro-SIM).

The phone offers all types of connectivity options including Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth v4.0, FM radio, 3G as well as 4G (with support for Indian LTE band). It has proximity, ambient light, accelerometer, and gyroscope sensors.

Compared to its predecessor, the Note 3 Plus does not comes with any significant improvement apart from the FullHD display. Also it weighs slightly more that Note 3, which was only 150 grams. The rest of the hardware remains same.

Earlier, this month Coolpad had slashed the price of Note 3 from Rs 8,999 to Rs 8,499 in order to avoid the price clash between the Note 3 and the Note 3 Plus. Earlier this year in January, the Chinese company had also launched another Note 3 variant, Coolpad Note 3 Lite, which came with a 5-inch touchscreen display, a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and a 2500mAh non removable battery.

Coolpad is one of the largest smartphones companies in China although in India its operations are still in the early stages.
