Attacking Narendra Modi, he said that not a single commitment to people had been fulfilled by Modi government, which were made by him before coming to power, and now the people are fed up of rising dearness and corruption and the Prime Minister’s silence on such burning issues.

According to Thakre, the farmers in the state are on the verge of ruin due to natural calamities and non-cooperation of the government, for neither is the government providing them facilities nor exempting their debts. He claimed that such protests would continue until the government announced exemption of the debts of farmers and granted them facilities.
The protesters included former Cong-ministers Nitin Raut and Anees Ahmed, and Cong city president Vikas Thakre.
