Nagpur: An unidentified con woman tricked and robbed an aged woman travelling in auto in the wee hours of Wednesday. The victim woman lost her gold chain worth Rs 65,000.
Renubai Domaji Gavte (65), native of Hetikundi, Karanja, Wardha district, arrived in city around 2.30 am on Wednesday for going to her daughter’s house. She boarded an auto at Sitabuldi Bus Stop. An unidentified woman, aged 40-45, was already sitting in the auto. Between Sitabuldi and Law College Square, the con woman scared Renubai by telling her that the gold chain she is wearing could be stolen by some miscreants. The accused woman told Renubai to keep her gold chain in her bag. Later, the con woman diverted Renubai’s attention and slyly pilfered the gold chain worth Rs 65,000 from the bag. The theft came to notice of Renubai when she reached her daughter’s house and checked her bag.
Sitabuldi PSI S B Danade, on the basis of Renubai’s complaint, booked the unidentified con woman under Section 379 of the IPC and searching for her.
