Nagpur: Managing Director of Nagpur Metro Rail Corporation Limited (NMRCL) Brajesh Dixit while addressing the exhibitors and office-bearers of Vidarbha Computer and Media Dealers’ Welfare Association (VCMDWA) said that the atmosphere is vibrant at the Kasturchand Park Grounds and is apt for an IT Expo. He was addressing the gathering as the Chief Guest and said that COMPEX is the bridge between the IT Manufacturers and the end users. They bridge the very big gap that exists between the IT and the users. He claimed that many end users do not even know what they need. This kind of exhibition is very relevant since this is the place where the users get to know what they need. Brajesh Dixit added that the times are very vibrant and one needs to be adept and in sync with the changing times. The IT world too is a very vibrant one. COMPEX serves as the right platform for people or users to get to know what they need. Similarly this also provides a platform for the IT Industry and manufactures/brands to showcase their products and the change that has come about in the equipments.
He reflected on the speech of the Secretary of Vidarbha Computer and Media Dealers’ Welfare Association Dinesh Naidu and said that since it is 24 years since its inception, VCMDWA and it has seen the IT Boom which was the ups and the downs too. However, though the IT industry may experience an up or down, the consumer side always remains buoyant.
Brajesh Dixit then went on to explain about how Nagpur Metro is an Rs 9000/- crores project that is coming up in Nagpur. He said that this kind of project comes once in 10 years. The present generation is lucky to get to see the project. The last time one got to see a project of such enormous proportion, was in 1880 when the Indian Railways came to Nagpur. It did bring about a revolution and drastic change in the landscape of Nagpur. The Nagpur Metro project too will change the Nagpur landscape. He added that a new era will start right from the day Nagpur Metro starts. He claimed that the urban sprawl which has expanded laterally in the city and caused various problems especially in public transport or our own transport means.
With the metro starting operations, one would be able to reach his or her destination in half an hour where once had to spend two hours to commute to the office or residence. The Metro Rail will save nearly one and a half hours of quality time.
Brajesh Dixit claimed that the Metro Rail that is coming up in Nagpur will be most modern and a state-of-the-art system. Even the signal system is a comparatively new one which is used only in the metro project of Hyderabad and Kochi. The control system too is going to a completely IT based. There IT has a significant role to play in the Nagpur Metro Rail.
Earlier, the Chief Guest Managing Director of Nagpur Metro Rail Corporation Limited (NMRCL) Brajesh Dixit, Guest of Honour Vice President of Intex Mobile Sanjay Kalirona, office-bearers of Vidarbha Computer and Media Dealers’ Welfare Association (VCMDWA) lighted the traditional lamp to inaugurate the COMPEX-2016.
This time round the organizers have availed a bigger area and have installed seven big domes and two small domes for the exhibitors of various IT brands.
Guest of Honour Vice President of Intex Mobile Sanjay Kalirona while addressing the audience said that they have been participating in Compex for the last 12 years and have received a great response. He lauded the efforts of the organizers of COMPEX and said that they should continue to provide the platform for the IT manufacturers.
Secretary of Vidarbha Computer and Media Dealers’ Welfare Association Dinesh Naidu while addressing the audience said that what was established 20 years ago by a group of Computer dealers in 1993 today has become an organization that has won the award for being the Best IT Association in India. Naidu said that they had started the association with three basic aims
- Safeguarding the business interest of Dealers of Computers
- Tutoring and guiding the general populace about the various brands and the right product for their needs and
- Performing Social Community Responsibility.
Naidu claimed that they have been fulfilling all the three aims well so far. He added that since Mobiles and Computers work towards the same aim of communications, they have added Mobile as a new vertical in Compex. He claimed that Intex is the main sponsor of the COMPEX-2016.
Later the COMPEX directory was also released by the guests and dignitaries.
