Nagpur: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will dedicate a new building at Sanjivan Vruddhashram run by Sanjivan Socio-Medical Foundation at Amgaon-Deoli, near Kanholibara in Hingna tehsil on November 29 (Sunday). Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule will preside over the function slated to be held at 12 noon. Ramtek MP Krupal Tumane, Hingna MLA Sameer Meghe will be the guests of honours. The dedication also coincides with the annual foundation day of Sanjiavn Gram held every year since last 17 years. This additional building has been constructed to house more senior citizens and will be formally inaugurated by Chief Minister on Sunday afternoon.
Spread over a lush green area of over 10 acres, Sanjivan Gram is one of the most ideal projects catering to senior citizens, providing public health care to them and nearby villages and that too without any Government grant.
Brainchild of well known ENT Surgeon Dr Sanjay Ugemuge, the project houses senior citizens in most ideal manner, rears cows, generates solar energy, conserves every drop of water, and grows vegetables, as well. The entire project is self-sufficient and energy sufficient. The project has received several state-level and national-level awards for strengthening green cover, harnessing solar energy and for creating a scenic spot in hilly terrain.
The hospital and public health care system within Sanjiavn Gram presents a picture of excellence in rural health. The entire activity is run purely on voluntary basis. A novel titled Soneri Saanj based on true stories of some of the inmates of old age home has been recently published and well appreciated.
Sanjivan Vruddhashram was visited by several dignitaries including ChiefMministers, senior ministers, social activists, senior bureaucrats and dignitaries from all walks of life. Sanjiavn Socio Medico Foundation President Dr Sanjay Ugemuge has urged people to attend the function in large numbers.
