Nagpur: Activists of city unit of Indian Youth Congress, led by Bunty Shelke, on Thursday staged protests against ‘cowardly’ attack on Congress workers in Assam apparently by BJP workers. The activists took out a padayatra from Darodkar Square C A Road to Itwari-based Mahatma Gandhi Statue and expressed their anger aganst the attack on Congress workers. They raised slogans such as “BJP Government Murdabad” “Modi Government Murdabad,” etc.
Strongly condemning the attack, Bunty Shelke said ”this is an attack on Gandhi’s ideology. People of our nation will never forgive the BJP for this act. This is another example of intolerance by BJP workers.”
Others who participated in the protests include Alok Kondapurwar, Kumar Borkute, Nilesh Deshbhratar, Annabhau Sathawane, Fazlur Rehman, Azhar Sheikh, Asif Ansari, and others in large number.
