City to have one more Super Speciality Cancer Hospital, Gadkari to perform “Bhoomipujan”

Union Surface Transport and Shipping Minister Nitin Gadkari will perform “Bhoomipujan” of Super Speciality Cancer Hospital being built by Health Care Global & Nagpur Cancer Hospital & Research Institute (HCG-NCHRI) at Wanjri Automotive Square, Kamptee Ring Road at 12 noon on Saturday, August 30, 2014, said Directors of NCHRI at a press conference held on Thursday.

The programme will conclude in presence of Mayor Anil Sole, Devendra Fadnavis, MLA and State Unit BJP President, Pravin Darade, Chairman of NIT and Anantrao Gharad , former Trustee, NIT.

The Directors further said that cancer patients all over the world are rising alarmingly. Almost 10 lakh new cases are added each year in India. There are very few well equipped Cancer Hospitals to treat patients in Maharashtra. Waiting period for getting radiotherapy treatment in Nagpur is about 2-3 months. Therefore, there is dire need to have a well equipped cancer hospital in city which will benefit patients from Central India.
HCG has joined hands with NCHRI to construct cutting edge Super Speciality Cancer Hospital with latest Radiotherapy Machines (Linear Accelerators ,HDR) , PET CT Scan, MRI etc. at affordable cost.

“20 percent of patients belonging to BPL category will be treated at Government approved charges. No poor patient will be denied treatment for lack of money. Non Profit Organization will sponsor the treatment of poor patients. To begin with Hospital will have 100 beds scalable to 500 in phased manner, said HCG.

HCG is leader in Cancer Care Management and within a span of 8 years has established 30 cancer hospitals in India and abroad. The Nagpur hospital will be of international standards having NABH ,CAAP and other accreditations. In due course of time, there would be subsidised accommodation facilities for the relatives of the patients. The Hospital is scheduled to commence its operations by December 2015.
