Nagpur: A 32-year old Chandrapur man, who was staying at Avadh Hotel adjacent to Anand Talkies Square in city since May 13, was found dead in his room under mysterious circumstances in the morning of Monday. Cops have registered a case and launched an in-depth investigation into the matter.

The deceased has been identified as Amit Rajendrasingh Zire (32), native of Tilak Ward, behind Balaji Mandir, Chimur, District Chandrapur.

According to police sources, the complainant Ranjit Ramlal Tripathi (21), staying in staff room of Avadh Hotel, used to wake up the deceased Amit daily at 9.30 am. Accordingly, Ranjit went to wake up Amit as usual on Monday too. However, he found something amiss as Amit was sleeping on his bed motionless. Ranjit also noticed a plastic mug lying beside left shoulder of Amit and tea-coloured water accumulated on the floor of the room. Dhantoli police, who were informed about the mysterious death of Amit, were clueless as how he died. Cops have sent body of Amit to GMCH for post-mortem and awaiting the report.
