Chaitanya Kidnapping Case : CM felicitates Nagpur cops, another accused still at large

cm-feliciate-police-nagpurNagpur: Ever since Nagpur police have timely tracked and freed 14 years old Chaitanya Ashtankar from the clutches of kidnappers they have been receiving praises from all quarters. And the latest to pat their backs is none other than the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis who on Monday feliticitated the concerned police team and showered appreciation on the achieving team. Prominently present on the occasion were city Commissioner of Police Sharda Prasad Yadav, ACP Rajwardhan and other policemen who displayed their alertness in cracking the case in the nick of time.

On the sidelines of the occasion, more information relating to the case poured out as police sources informed that the abductors have been conducting the recce of Chaitanya’s father Subhash Ashtankar’s house for the last 6 months before actually going ahead with the plan. However this time police did not buy much time, given the past similar incidents in which Kush Kataria and Yug Chandak, the innocent school boys were abducted for ransom and could not be saved.

Meanwhile police have been trying to extract more details from the main accused and mastermind of the entire game plan Sudhir Ninawe who along with other accused Sheikh Ishaq Sheikh Israel, Durvas Kolhad, and Tayyub Sheikh, was arrested on Saturday. All the accused have been under remand since then. Another accused Mukesh Taywade has managed to flee and has been absconding since then. Sources said the Mukesh is a history sheeter and an externed criminal who is suspected to have escaped into the borders of Madhya Pradesh. Police have launched a manhunt for him.
