CBSE Announces JEE Main 2018 Date; to be Conducted in 104 Cities Across India, 9 Cities Abroad

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday announced the dates for the offline Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2018. As per reports, the pen and paper test will be held on April 8, 2018.

However, dates for the computer-based test has not yet been announced, but is expected to be scheduled sometime in mid-April 2018.

Reports claimed that JEE Main 2018 paper 1 (B.E./ B.Tech) will be held in both online and offline mode. Paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Plan) will be held online only. Noteworthy that online registration for JEE Main 2018 is expected to begin from the first week of December 2017 and last till end of January 2018.

JEE Main 2018 will be held in 104 cities across India and 9 foreign cities.

Any student who had passed or appeared in class 12 are eligible to appear for the JEE Main 2018.

JEE Main is conducted for admission into around 24,323 seats in the 31 National Institute of Technology (NIT), 23 Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) and 20 Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTI) in India. The multiple choice based question paper I covers three subjects Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics to be attempted within a duration of three hours.

Paper 2 is MCQ based as well and covers Mathematics, Aptitude test, Drawing test.

In 2016, over 12 lakh students appeared in JEE Main for admission to programmes offered by institutes.
