Nagpur: In the AGM of VMV Commerce, JMT Arts and JJP Science College Alumni Association, CA Kirit N. Kalyani, was unanimously re-elected as the President of the Alumni Association of the college, situated at Wardhaman Nagar, Nagpur. Prof. Bhavesh Bhuptani, was reelected as the Secretary of the Alumni. Prof. Dr. Natasha Sharma, was elected as First Jt. Secretary whereas Laxman Patel was elected as Second Jt. Secretary. Ashok Sawarkar was elected as Senior Vice President of the Alumni Association, CA Kirti Thakkar as Vice-President & CA Kanhaiya Malviya as Treasurer. The executive committee members are CA Hariom Arora, Himmat Patel, Girish Gadhiya, Dharmesh Dave, Pradeep Khanorkar, Mahesh Patel, Tushar Rawal,. Ramnikbhai Patel & Dr. Manoj Nagarnaik. Prof. Dr. Manish Vyas was given the responsibility of Public Relations Officer.
At the outset, Prof. Bhavesh Bhuptani tabled the annual report at the AGM. Prof. Dr. Manish Vyas informed about the activities of the association during the last year.

CA Kirit N. Kalyani, having reelected as President of the association, while addressing the members on this occasion said the strength of unity amongst the alumni members is going to prove as the guiding force for the Alumni to carry its objects. He shared his feelings of joy and pride in leading the Alumni Association of the college for the third year in continuation. He also shared that the Alumni Association since its formal registration in the year 2004, is continuously striving to serve the members of the association which mainly includes the ex-students of the college.

Kalyani further informed that during the past year, Alumni strength has increased manifold because of various events and activities. The membership drive got a boost during the past year. He appealed to the members present to arrange to add more and more members from all stratas of life. This consequently is going to pool the resources in the long run and will eventually serve the purpose of joining noble and the needy, he added.

He added that the plans for the upcoming year needs to be drawn. Various events like Akhil Bharatiya Hasya Kavi Sammellan along with the signature event of the alumni being `Yaadon ki Bahaar, VMV Sadabahaar’ needs to be repeated, he added. Also, VAPL i.e. VMV Alumni Cricket Premier League can be planned, he opined. Various programs including job placements for students should be planned in a grand manner, was one of his notable points.

Members present also came up with various notable ideas to carry Alumni Association to new heights. Due ideas taken on record include due promotion of activities of the association to let ex-students of the college know about the efforts of the association. Arranging merit-cum-need based scholarships was one more activity planned to be carried in the forthcoming year. Workshops for the benefit of businessmen and trade community to duly help them in the GST Regime can be one of the activities. In the long run, GST Regime is capable of generating good employment opportunities to the students of the college, was agreed to by the members.

Prof. Dr. Manish Vyas took due efforts for the success of the AGM. Prof. Dr. Natasha Sharma, proposed formal vote of thanks to duly conclude the meeting.
