Nagpur: The President of BJP’s Jyeshta Aghadi, Nagpur West Mandal, Dr Umar Khan has stoked a major controversy by calling the party’s National President Amit Shah the most arrogant and haughty leader in the country.

In a statement issued to press on Tuesday, Dr Khan, who is a veterinary doctor by profession and runs a clinic in Mankapur area here, has said that a public meeting of Amit Shah has been organised in city soon. “If Amit Shah comes to city and addresses the meeting, then it will definitely dent the popularity of Nitin Gadkari,” Dr Khan claimed.

“The late Atal Behari Vajpayee was accepted and respected by all. He is still ruling the hearts of people in the country. After Vajpayee, Gadkari is the only leader whom the people of this country see as icon of Vajpayee. Gadkari has made a place in the hearts of countrymen. People of all religions respect Gadkari despite he being a BJP leader. Even though Nagpur is ‘Sangh Bhoomi’ it is peace loving city. There is no place for haughty leaders in the city. Country’s most arrogant and haughty leader is coming to city in January. A public meeting of BJP President Amit Shah is being organised. If the meeting takes place then the popularity of Gadkari will definitely get a hit,” Dr Khan stated in the press release.

He further said that in the recently held Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Gadkari had addressed a public meeting in Seoni. BJP won this seat. On the other hand, Amit Shah has addressed a public meeting in Lakhnadaun seat of Seoni district. The party lost the seat. From this fact, one can gauge the popularity of Gadkari and Shah, he said.

“I have been working in BJP since the past 20 years. But I have never seen such an arrogant and haughty leader like Amit Shah. Hence I appeal the city BJP leaders to cancel public meeting of Amit Shah in peace loving city of Nagpur,” Dr Khan said.
