Nagpur/Amravati:
A feud running between an Independent MLA Ravi Rana and Guardian Minister of Amravati Pravin Pote over the statue of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar took an ugly turn when BJP workers allegedly ransacked the office of the legislator in Amravati.

A full-sized statue of Dr Ambedkar has been erected in Bhimtekdi area of Amravati. However, unveiling of the statue was deferred for want of permission. However, in an pre-emptive move apparently to score a point or two over his rival, the Independent MLA Ravi Rana and his wife Navnit Rana, unveiled the statue at midnight hours of April 13 itself. Moreover, addressing his workers, Rana launched a scathing attack on the Guardian Minister Pravin Pote saying the Minister had stalled the unveiling of the statue.

Further, Rana warned, “If anyone put hurdles in the unveling of the statue, Pote will be thrashed severely.” These stinging words of Rana clearly hinted snowballing of the stand-off into a major fracas. And the same thing happened. Rana’s office, situated in Rajapeth area, was stormed and ransacked in a big way by BJP workers as alleged by the MLA. A complaint with police has been lodged in this connection.
