Nagpur: Inspired by a Bollywood movie, a courier boy tried to extort money from a doctor in order to start his own courier company! He demanded extortion from the doctor, failing which he threatened to kill members of doctor’s family.

It is learnt that director of Nerkar Hospital, Sakkardara, received a call on his mobile phone last month. The caller identified himself as Prince and threatened to kill his family members. When the police learnt about it, they suspected the involvement of a big gang. But after arresting the accused, both police and the doctor heaved a sigh of relief as the youth narrated them about his unemployment.

Dr Mohan Nerkar, resident of Ganeshpeth Model Mill, Godrej Anand Apartment received the call from one Prince who said he was a policeman and demanded an unspecified amount of money. After this he called from a public call booth and identified himself as Tony, brother of Goldie, the gangster. He threatened the doctor with dire consequences unless he parted with a big amount. Interestingly, he did not specify how much money he wanted.

Meanwhile, the doctor complained to the police about the spate of threats he received on his mobile phone. The police laid a trap to nab the caller. Accordingly, Dr Nerkar called the unknown caller to get the amount on February 12. As per plan, Dr Nerkar stood in front of Nerkar Hospital with a bag containing a mobile phone. Seeing this, a minor boy of medium height came running and snatched the bag from doctor.

Nobody believed that such an ordinary boy can indulge in this kind of extortion. Police chased him and got hold of him. When he was taken to the police station, the youth said that he had earlier worked as a courier boy but was now unemployed and wanted to launch his own courier company
