Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa office inaugurated

Nagpur News : Regional office of Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa at Suyog Bhavan, Near GPO, Civil Lines inaugurated on April,17, 2014. Bar Council is a body which works for the development of lawyers who comes under the body. Bar Council is working for the welfare of lawyers in the state, and regional. Currently there are around 1.65 lakh lawyers registered with Bar Council.

Justice Bhushan Gavai, Senior Administrative Judge, Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court while giving his speech during the inauguration program said that Advocacy is a profession and not a business. Lawyers should strive hard to provide succor to society and actively participate in dispensation of quick and effective justice to people said Justice Bhushan Gavai, Gavai added that lawyers should work like social workers and social healers. Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa is the supreme body for lawyers play the role of a bridge between judiciary and lawyers said Justice Gavai.

Ashish Deshmukh, President. Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa said that this new office will ease the queries of lawyers in Vidarbha region. Bar Council introduced many schemes for the benefits of lawyers. Bar Council has started a pension scheme for the registered lawyers who are practicing from last 30 years. Those lawyers who are working from last 30 years after enrolling their names in the Bar Council will get 10 lakh after retirement. Similarly association is providing medical policy of Rs 5 lakh for lawyers and their family members told Ashish Deshmukh.

Sitting judges of Nagpur bench Justice Bhushan Dharmadhikari, Justice Arun Chaudhary, Justice CV Bhadang, Principal District Judge Subhash Moho& HCBA President Adv Arun Patil, Vice President of Bar Council Anil Goverdiwe, District Government Pleader Vijay Kolhe, former Bar Council Chairman Adv Aniruddha Choubey, senior legal practitioners and many others were present on the occasion
