He was speaking during the annual inter-bank award function of Bankers Sports Council at Vidarbha Hindi Sahitya Sammelans Madhuram Hall in Morbhavan on Sunday. Thipsay was the chief guest of the 48th award function.
The Hitavadas Principal Correspondent Paritosh Pramanik received this years Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Birth Centenary Award.
The Vijay Telang Lifetime Achievement award was conferred upon Group Captain Dinkar Deshpande, former Vidarbha Ranji Trophy captain. Advocate Ashutosh Potnis got Outstanding Sports Organiser award.
Prof Vijay Barse received GT Parande Social Service Award whereas International shuttler Vaishnavi Bhale received VV Naik Outstanding sportsperson award.The award function was graced by B Shankar, Dy General Manager, State Bank of India, DK Sood, Dy General Manager, Union Bank of India, TV Raman Murthy, Zonal Head, Bank of Maharashtra and Vijay Santan, District Sports Officer. BSC also felicitated winners of various inter-bank tournaments like cricket, table tennis, carrom, badminton and volleyball.
