Post her not so talked about appearance in her last outing Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Aishwarya is set to return to the big screen with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Fanney Khan. The film has been in news ever since the makers got Aishwarya and her Taal co-actor Anil Kapoor on board for the film.
However, the two are not romantically paired opposite each other. And if a reports to be believed, Aishwarya will yet again romance a younger actor in her next film.
The report suggests that Vicky Kaushal and Rajkummar Rao are the front-runner in the race of lead actor. A source was quoted as telling the website, “Either Rao or Kaushal should bag the role. But you never know, as neither of them has yet signed on the dotted line.”
This is not the first time Aishwarya will be romancing a younger hero. Her on-screen camaraderie with Ranbir in ADHM was lauded by fans and critics alike.
Film’s co-producer Prerna Arora in an earlier interview to Mumbai Mirror had spilled the beans on Aishwarya’s role in the film. “Almost all of Ash’s scenes are with Anil. Her character is the complete opposite of her serious turns in Jazbaa and Sarbjit. In our film she is the spunky, enchanting female protagonist,” she said.
Fanney Khan is the Hindi adaptation of the 2000 Dutch release, Everybody’s Famous! However, the makers have given their own twist to the plot. The film is set to go on floors this August.
