Air Force personnel and families performing Yoga at Headquarters Maintenance Command, Vayusena Nagar, Nagpur on the occasion of International Yoga Day 2017

Nagpur: Yoga Day was observed with enthusiasm at Armed Forces establishments at Nagpur. 2968 NCC Cadets participated in a programme organised by Nagpur Municipal Corporation and the event was graced by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, and Shipping Shri Nitin Gadkari. He acknowledged the participation of NCC Cadets in large numbers.

A total of 8233 cadets under Gp HQ NCC Nagpur along with the training staff participated in the event by simultaneously observing the Yoga protocol forwarded by Ministry of Ayush at 116 location across six districts in Vidarbha.

Air Force personnel and families did Yoga at HQMC Nagpur led by Air Mshl Hemant Sharma, AOC-in-C, Maintenance Command. There was a huge response at Brigade of the Guards Regimental Centre Kamptee where officers, personnel and 1600 recruits participated in the programme.

Yoga has become an integral part of the physical training routine at the Centre. A separate event for ladies was held at river side Kamptee Cantonment Club which is the oldest club in Vidarbha. Programmes were also held at NCC OTA and Institute of Military Law. 118 TA Battalion which is a prestigious unit located at zero mile at Nagpur also conducted a Yoga session. Army Officers also participated in Yoga events organised at schools in Vidarbha.
