Nagpur: That doctors in Nagpur have become blindly professional is not hidden to anyone. However this particular case hints at the height of their blindness dazzled with their high consultation and diagnosis fees. This time the blunder is committed on the end of railway doctors who declared a woman dead, only to find her alive after they sent the body for postmortem!
The incident happened at the Central Railway Station on Thursday evening. The constable found the woman was breathing and immediately informed senior officials, who shifted her to GMCH.
The woman, identified as Malabar, in her 40s, was found unconscious near Buland Engine at the railway station. Railway police informed railway doctors, who immediately rushed to check the woman. After conducting the check-up, the doctor declared the woman dead and handed the memo at 7.15pm. Later, police constable Mahendra Mankar and API Govind Madne were taking the body for post mortem when Mankar found the woman was breathing. A woman police constable was called and the woman was taken for treatment at Government Medical College and Hospital. Till late night, the woman was undergoing treatment.
