Putting hurdles in anti-encroachment drive undertaken by NMC has proved costly for former MLA Anees Ahmed as he has been booked by police. Anees Ahmed faced the police action along with 11 others.

According to police, the NMC demolition squad, led by Deputy Engineer Arun Baburao Mogarkar (56), had undertaken an anti-encroachment drive in Chhoti Khadan area of Hansapuri in Nagpur. The squad was busy in demolishing encroachments on the road and unauthorized constructions adjacent to the wall of a primary school.
