Andhra Minister pays goodwill visit to NMC

Nagpur: The Andhra Pradesh Minister of State for Urban Development P Narayan on Tuesday paid a goodwill visit to Nagpur Municipal Corporation. The Andhra Minister was in city to get himself apprised about the ongoing work of ‘Majhi Metro’ and visited the worksites. He was accompanied by the Managing Director of Vijaywada Metro Rail Corporation Reddy.

In a small function held at New Administrative Building of NMC, the Mayor Pravin Datke welcomed the Andhra Pradesh Minister by offering him Shawl, Shriphal, a memorabilia and sapling of Tulsi. Other dignitaries present on the occasion include Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar, Project Committee Chairman Sunil Agrawal, Corporator Vijay Barse, Nagpur Metro’s Executive Director Ramnath, General Manager (Finance) Anil Kokate, NMC Chief Engineer Ulhas Debadwar and other officials.

The Municipal Commissioner Hardikar apprised the Andhra Minister P Narayan about various projects being completed and implemented by the civic body including 24X7 water supply scheme, sewerage treatment plant, Nag River Pollution Control Scheme, Prime Minister’s Housing for All, power generation from waste etc.

The Minister appreciated the work being done by NMC special the “Earth Hour” in which all the street lights, electric gadgets in a particular area are shut down for one hour to save electricity.
