Nagpur: Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar has given the responsibility of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation polls slated to be held in 2017 to newly appointed Additional Municipal Commissioner Ravindra Kumbhare. In the last NMC elections, Ravindra Kumbhare had carried out the responsibility of the elections wonderfully. Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar has also been given additional responsibility of revenue generation of NMC to Additional Municipal Commissioner Ravindra Kumbhare.
It could be mentioned here that the responsibilities of all the Additional Municipal Commissioners have been reshuffled by Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar on July 7, 2016.
The responsibilities of NMC Elections has been removed from Dr Ramnath Sonwane and given to Additional Municipal Commissioner Ravindra Kumbhare in this reshuffling. Additional Municipal Commissioner Ravindra Kumbhare had successfully managed the NMC polls held on 2012.
Talks were taking rounds for the last many days that Ravindra Kumbhare would be given this responsibility. With Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar giving the responsibility of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation polls to newly appointed Additional Municipal Commissioner Ravindra Kumbhare the move is considered as a pro-active step.
Apart from this, in order to improve the dilapidated financial condition, Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar has given additional charge of revenue generation and revenue enhancement to Additional Municipal Commissioner Ravindra Kumbhare.
On the other hand Additional Municipal Commissioner Dr Ramnath Sonwane has been given the responsibility of Health, Transport, Solid Waste/Garbage Disposal etc.
