A Unique Confluence for Technology Translation at VNITNagpur: Vidnyan Bharati, Vidarbha Mandal and VIA has taken up a mission to bring together Industry, Innovators, Entrepreneurs, Facilitators and Academia on a single platform for Technology Translation efforts in the form of IIEFA and is organizing the first of its kind of conference at VNIT, Nagpur during 5th Feb to 7th Feb 2016. We are happy to announce that all stake holders such as VIA, MIA, BMA from industry side, URDIP as a facilitator, VNIT and Cummins College of Engineering, Nagpur from academia are the active co-organizers of the event. The organizers of this conference have taken a broad canvas of technological areas right from Environment to Energy, Agriculture to Food processing and preservation, from Ayush, health diagnostics to medicine, from rural development to sustainable development and last but not the least from manufacturing technologies to modern science and technology. The concept of IIEFA conference will serve as the model for pooling the activities and efforts of diverse sections in a synergistic way. The idea of IIEFA is welcomed by all stake holders such as laboratories of DRDO, ICAR, CSIR, DBT, ICMR on one hand and renowned scientists, academicians and industries on the other.

The proposed three day event has received overwhelming response from all sections such as various clusters among industry associations, facilitators like banks, innovators across the country, aspiring entrepreneurs, and academic institutions. Stalwarts of scientific fraternity such as Dr. Anil Kakodkar, Dr. V. K. Saraswat, Dr. Vijay Bhatkar, Dr. K. Karunakaran, Dr. Prabhat Ranjan, Dr. Anil Sahasrabuddhe, Chairman AICTE, Director Generals of most of the National Laboratories, renowned industrialist from Vidarbha will participate in deliberations of the conference. A special attraction of the conference is a Technology Expo housing exhibits from laboratories of DRDO, CSIR, ICAR, NEERI which will be open for public and college students on the conference days from 11am to 8 pm on all three days.

During the 3 days conference, there will be 2 keynote addresses, 4 plenary sessions and 24 expert driven sessions on various verticals of industry. The conference will be Inaugurated by Dr Anil Kakodkar, former Chairman of Atomic Energy commission in the august presence of Ajayji Sancheti and Dr. VK Saraswat, member planning commission, Dr. T karunakaran, former director MGiri. Dr VK Saraswat will deliver keynote address on “Role of MSME in modern S&T” and Dr T karunakaran will deliver address on “The ‘RICHES’ model for a value-based prosperity for the village community”. The Expo will be inaugurated by Dr. VK Saraswat. The other plenary talks are on Energy conservation, Use of patents for business, Business opportunities in Agriculture and on Biotechnology. In addition there will be two public sessions one on India’s Vision for 2020 to 2035 which will be chaired by Dr. Anil Kakodkar and other panel members will be Dr VK Saraswat, Dr. Prabhat Ranjan of TIFAC, Hargovindji Bajaj, Bal Phondke. The concluding session will be a deliberation of ‘Make-in-Maharshtra’. This session will be held on 7th Feb at 5 pm. It will be graced by Nitinji Gadkari, Union minister Road Transport and Rajyasabha MP Ajayji Sancheti, Thomas mathews, VP, Mahindra & Mahindra, S Nuwalji from Solar Industries, Dr. Pai Raikar from National Institute – MSME, Goa, Vishramji Jamdar, Vijay Phanshikar.

The other attractions for the MSME sector are special vendor development sessions by DRDO, Ordinance Factory and Tata-Power SED and a hands-on workshop on how to use patents for product/ process improvisation. Apart from this there will be technology specific sessions on technological issues and problems raised by various clusters of industries of Vidarbha. These cover technological areas right from Environment to Energy, Agriculture to Food processing and preservation, from Ayush, health diagnostics to medicine, from rural development to sustainable development and last but not the least from manufacturing technologies to modern science and technology. Convener of this novel conference is former ISRO scientist Dr. Mithilesh Tiwari, co-convener is ex-DRDO scientist and present Principal of Cummin’s College of Engineering for Women Dr. Bharatbhushan Joshi. Vishram Jamdar, renowned industrialist and Chairman of prestigious VNIT is the Chairman of Local Organizing Committee. Atul Pande, President of Vidarbha Industries Association is most active stake holder who has taken allout efforts to promote this conference by bringing participation from all clusters of Vidarbha. Prof. N. S. Choudhari (Director VNIT), Prof Sunil Bhat and Prof. Abhay Kuthe of VNIT are providing valuable support as a host institute. Narendra Satfale, Naresh Chafekar, Dr. Sanjay Wate, Dr. Prakash Itankar and faculty of Cummins College of engineering for women, Nagpur are working hard for the success of the conference.
