The State Government, after considering thousands of patients visit the GMCH for proper treatment, not only from Nagpur, Vidarbha but also from neighbouring states, sanctioned Rs 11.33 crore for construction of the Trauma Center in GMCH in March 2012. The stipulated period of finishing the construction was 18 months. But till today, even 50 percent work has not been completed. And till the completion of the Trauma Care Center, patients visiting GMCH would continue to be in trauma.

Nagpur News: If the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) is called itself a trauma for thousands of patients, it would not be surprising or shocking. Patients and their relatives undergo traumatic experiences at one time or the other is well-known fact. And when it comes to ongoing construction of Trauma Care Center in GMCH, the less said the better.

The construction of Trauma Care Center in GMCH was started in August 2012 and was to be completed in the stipulated time period of 18 months. But shockingly, even 50 percent of construction work has not been completed despite the time limit being over and out. This is a way giving trauma to the patients on the part of GMCH Administration. Utter negligence and careless attitude.

A Nagpur firm was given contract for building the Trauma Care Center. But the firm abysmally failed in its contract. And till the completion of the Trauma Care Center, patients visiting GMCH would continue to be in trauma.

BIGGEST IN STATE:

The Trauma Care Center being constructed in GMCH would be biggest in State having more than 35 rooms. The Center would be equipped with sophisticated machineries. Since the number of patients visiting the GMCH is in thousands, additional doctors and support staff would be appointed specifically for the Trauma Care Center.

However, the point is: The non-completion of the Trauma Care Center within stipulated timeframe by the senseless firm and equally careless GMCH Administration would certainly put the patients in trauma. Trauma of visiting the GMCH in the hope of a better treatment.
