Nagpur: Over 90 Countries observe “Falls prevention Awareness Day. In India first time this day is being observed tomorrow on 22nd Sept. 2016. 9th Falls Prevention Awareness Day as advocated by National Council for Aging {NCOA} will be observed by India Home Care Medicine on 22nd September 2016 (Thursday) between 4 pm to 7pm at IWWA Hall, Shankar Nagar Sq., Near Petrol Pump, North Ambazari Road, Nagpur. The Stalls Exhibition “ Falls are Preventable” will be open from 4 p.m. till end of the programme.
Ar. Ravi Nafde, Designer & Architect will speak on “Preventive measures for avoiding Falls.” Dr. Sadanand Thote, Podiatrician & Physiotherapist and Foot Wear Expert will tell about Role of Foot Wear and Physiotherapy in Falls Prevention. Dr. Shailesh Pangaonkar, Consultant Psychiatrist( Choosing Medicines Wisely for Falls Prevention) and Dr. Sanjay Bajaj, Consultant Geriatrician, will speak on “Fall: Death Sentence for An Elderly” Sujoy Kundu Therapy Counsellor will speak on “Stone Therapy for Healthy Spine and Nerves” At the start of the programme “UTTARAYAN”, a book in Marathi on Elder’s Health, written by Dr Sanjay Bajaj which is translated in Hindi by Dr O. P. Gupta Ex-Dean of MGIMS, Sevagram , will be released in the same Programme at the hands of Dr. S. W. Kulkarni, Ex Dean GMC, Exhibitions of Various stalls helping in spreading awareness regarding FALLS PREVENTION will be arranged at the venue.
On this occasion, Dr. Kishor and Dr. Lata Mohril, the “Live Kidney Donor Geriatric Couple” will be felicitated at the hands of Dr Jayant Pande , Chairman, GSI , Vidarbha Chapter. Still going strong at 67, Marathon Runner Dr. Diwakar Bhoyar will be also honoured on this day with Life Time Achievement Award, at the hands of Shri Hanuman Bajaj, President of Kedarmal Bajaj Trust. Dr. Gaurav Jaiswal will be the Master of Ceremony.
Exhibition of various Stalls helping in spreading awareness regarding FALLS PREVENTION will be arranged at the venue.
