Nagpur: This year again ICADians has made city proud by qualifying First phase (Aptitude Test) of prestigious Kishor Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) & continued the legacy of ex-ICADians. Qualified students are Viraj Deshmukh, Prathamesh Patil, Harshad Ingole & Harshwardhan Meshram. It must be noted that last year Sameer Pande, Harsh Dolhare, Nachiket Deoghare qualified the first phase of KVPY. By December 2016, these 3 intellectuals cleared their tough second phase of interview, and attended the KVPY camp as Final Selection. Notably only 5 Nagpur students attended the camp, out of which 3 students are from ICAD. In last 6 years 24 ICADians have cleared KVPY. All of these students got into final KVPY merit list and won fellowship.
The “Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana” (K.V.P.Y) is an ongoing program started by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, to encourage students of Basic Sciences, Engineering and Medicine to take up research careers in these areas. Students who clear KVPY are eligible for direct admission in IISC- Bangalore. ICADian Ameya Prabhune who secured AIR-442 in JEE-Advanced in 2014 & Pranjal Warade (International Mathematics Olympiad Silver Medalist) of year 2015 got admission in IISC through their performance in KVPY.
Since 2014 the highest number of Final KVPY selections of Nagpur is from ICAD. 13 ICADians who qualified since 2014 are Rupanshu Ganvir (JEE AIR 24, IIT-Powai), Aditya Bhagwat (JEE AIR – 404, IIT-Kharagpur), Amey Prabhune (AIR 442, IISc Bangalore), Anurag Bhardwaj (JEE AIR – 445, IIT Kharagpur), Anuj Apte (JEE AIR-79, MIT-USA), Pranjal Warade (JEE-AIR-4727, IISc Bangalore), Mandar Bhurchandi (JEE-AIR-147, IIT-Bombay), Ashwin Tayade (JEE-AIR-901, BITS-Pilani), Kartik Venkatraman (JEE-AIR-4764, NIT-Trichy), Abhijeet Bhure (JEE-AIR-855, IIT-Hyderabad), Sameer Pande, Harsh Dolhare, and Nachiket Deoghare. Another batch of 4 students, Viraj Deshmukh, Prathamesh Patil, Harshad Ingole & Harshwardhan Meshram, is in process of final selection.
It should be noted that it is in the process of their tough preparation of JEE and NEET, ICADians are qualifying KVPY, Olympiads and other prestigious competitive examinations.
