Nagpur: In an audacious act, five persons including two women kidnapped a man to recover Rs 3 lakh loan extended to him by the accused. The man was released but not before a good thrashing and life threat.

The five accused, Sangita Jadhav (35), resident of Lata Mangeshkar Hospital, Akash Bandu Zade (22), Ramrao Awale (40), both residing near YCCE College, Babita Khandare (35) and Suraj (24), both residents of Gajanan Nagar, had given a loan of Rs 3 lakh to Vijay Shambhunath Band (32), resident of Vanadongri, Hingna. The credit was extended at the interest of 40 percent for two years.

However, for reasons, Vijay Band failed to return the loan and the interest thereon. Enraged by the non-return of the loan with interest, the five accused forced Vijay to sit in their vehicle around 4.30 pm on November 26 and took him to jungle near Vanadongri Toll Tax Booth. They bashed him severely and threatened to kill him if the money is not returned forthwith. Scare to the core, Vijat gathered courage and lodged a complaint against the accused with MIDC police albeit belatedly.

MIDC PSI Jadhav has registered a case against the five accused under Sections 363, 506(B) of the IPC read with Sub-Sections 39, 45 of Maharashtra Money-Lending (Regulation) Act 2014 and started a probe into the matter.
