The city-based South Central Zone Cultural Centre is organizing the 25th Dr Vasantrao Deshpande Sangeet Samaroh from July 30 to August 3,2016. The 5-day musical extravaganza, to be held at Dr Vasantrao Deshpande Hall, will be inaugurated by Union Surface Transport and Shipping Minister Nitin Gadkari. Internationally acclaimed artists from the country as well abroad will relive the Indian classical music and folk dances at the Sangeet Samaroh.

Dr Piyush Kumar, Director of SCZCC said, the music festival will see Hariprasad Chaurasiya (flute), German artist Kartance Vikay (Rudra Veena), Pt M Vyenkateshkumar (Classical songs), Dr L Subramaniam (violin), Japan’s Takahero Araee (Santoor), Shama Bhate and associates (Kathak dance) and other renowned artists mesmerizing the audience with their presentations in the 5-day Dr Vasantrao Deshpande Sangeet Samaroh from July 30 to August 3. “This year we are celebrating our Silver Jubilee of Dr Vasantrao Deshpande Sangeet Samaroh. We have invited various national and international artists for the event. The event will also have dance, drama and various other performances to the liking of the audience. SCZCC had put a nominal tickets in Rs 150, 600 and 2500 according to the sitting arrangement of the hall,” Dr Piyush Kumar said.
