Nagpur: On the basis of secret information received that certain contraband articles are being transported by a Nagpur-Jabalpur bound bus of a private travels, Deolapar police came into action and laid a nakabandi in its jurisdiction. When checked the bus No. MP-20/ DA 1000, the police recovered 30 kg Ganja (marijuana) worth Rs 3,00,000 and 200 packets of scented tobacco and pan-masala worth Rs 36,000. The police then seized the articles worth Rs 3,36,000.
All these articles were kept in the backside of the bus, and were then seized by police. A case under sections 8 (K), 20, 29 NDPC, 3(1) ZZV, 26(2), 4, 30(2) A, 59 Food Security and Standard Rules, 2006 read with 273,188 IPC has been slapped against the accused. Deolapar API Patil is further investigating the case.
The police action was executed under the guidance of Nagpur Rural SP Dr Arati Singh by SDPO Dilip Salunkhe, Deolapar PI Vishal Patil, PSI Khadtale and police men Bais, Sandip Kadu, Sachin Tekade, Pawan Waghmare and Kishor Wankhede.
