3 minor girls kidnapped from Sonegaon area, cops mount massive search

Nagpur: Close on the heels of two college-bound teenage girls going missing with a span of hours on Wednesday, three minor girls have reportedly been kidnapped by unidentified person(s) in Sonegaon area on Friday.

A 13-year old girl and her two friends, both minors, went missing around 10.30 am on Friday, June 23. Parents of the girls searched them frantically at all possible places but without success. The mother of the 13-year old girl suspected that her daughter and two other girls could have been lured and abducted by unidentified person(s). A missing complaint has been registered with Sonegaon police.

PSI Rathod, as per the directives of Supreme Court that if a minor girl or boy goes missing then the case be treated as kidnapping, has registered an offence under Section 363 of the IPC and mounted a massive search to trace the three minor girls.

On Wednesday, two teenage girls who went to colleges for admission purpose went missing and were reportedly kidnapped from Kalamna and Bajaj Nagar jurisdictions. Whereabouts of these two girls are still not known.

However, the DCP Zone 1 Smartna Patil said that the three girls left homes on their own. The girls were being scolded by their parents over study and other domestic issues. The 13-year old girl has left a note saying she is leaving the home on her own. She further says that she loves her family. The DCP further said that a police squad visited Railway Station, Bus Stand and at other places to trace the girls. The CCTV cameras at Railway Station reportedly captured the girls at a ticket counter. Enquiries revealed that the girls might have purchased tickets for Narkhed. A team of cops has gone to Narkhed on the trail of the girls.
