RTMNU CampusNagpur:Two years after Rasthrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University banned 250 colleges over non-compliance of norms to run colleges, the officials have finally taken off 71 colleges from its affiliation list. All the colleges have been served with disaffiliation notices last week. All these institutions were part of 250 banned colleges, wherein NU barred admissions in 2013 after the high court’s stringent directives.

Sources informed that the university’s academic council had taken a decision in this regard in its meeting on June 21, but it took nearly six months for NU administration to issue the notification as per Section 91 of the Maharashtra Universities Act, 1994.

BCUD director Dinesh Agrawal has warned the students and parents not take admissions in these colleges, which stopped operating since the last many years due to shortage of students and teachers. The issue has been consistently highlighted in the past in which NU’s apathy to disaffiliate such colleges was underlined.
