Nagpur: Yet another land grab and extortion case has come to the fore in city’s dubious record. This time the two conmen not only grabbed plots of land and demanded extortion money but also tried to hoodwink a court by submitting forged documents. One of the accused has been arrested.
The two accused have been identified as Gopal Champalal Yadav (47), resident of Itwari, near Bharat Akhada, and his brother-in-law Gangaprasad Yadav. The accused duo could be part of land mafia Dilip Gwalbanshi’s gang that has gone land grabbing spree and ultimately booked under MCOCA.
In the instant case, the complainant Dr Abhilasha Praful Chandrikapure (46), resident of Plot No. 14, Ashok Colony, Pratapnagar Road, told Kalamna police that her mother-in-law is President of Sariputra Cooperative Society and owned a 2.1/5 acre layout at Khasra No. 12, 13, 14, 16 in Chikhli Deosthan, Kamptee Road. The two accused Gopal and Gangaprasad Yadav on March 16, 2016, forged the Agreement to Sell documents of the layout and submitted the documents to Satranjipura Zone of NMC. On the basis of the forged documents, the two accused tried to do mutation of the landed property.
Similarly, the accused submitted the bogus documents to a court. But the court perused the documents and ruled them as bogus. Despite the court ruling, the accused Yadav duo, in March 2017, grabbed two plots numbering 1 and 2 in Sariputra Coop Society’s layout belonging to the complainant Dr Abhilasha Chandrikapure. The accused Gopal Yadav his brother-in-law Gangaprasad Yadav then demanded extortion money of Rs 15 lakh from Dr Chandrikapure if she wants her two plots back.
Kalamna PSI P Randive, based on the complaint of Dr Chandrikapure, booked the two accused Gopal Yadav and Gangaprasad Yadav under Sections 420, 314, 387, 447, 462, 467, 468, 474, 506(B), 34 of the IPC. Gopal Yadav has been arrested and the other accused is being searched.
