19-year old boy caught red-handed while trying to smash ATM & steal cash

Nagpur: A 19-year old boy was caught red-handed when he was attempting to break open an ATM and steal the cash. Now, the accused is cooling his heels in police custody.

The accused Sunil Ramgopal Kashyap (19), seems to be from a well-to-do family as he resides in WCL Colony, Saoner, District Nagpur. With nefarious design in his mind, Sunil reached the ATM of Syndicate Bank at Plot No. 170, Vidya Nagar, Koradi area, in the dead of Sunday night (1.30 am). The accused was armed with a crowbar (Sabbal). Once inside the ATM, Sunil smashed the screen with the help of the crowbar and attempted to pull the cash. However, the accused was caught in the act by alert guard of the ATM.

Acting on the complaint lodged by Branch Manager Sukhchand Jagannath Sakharkar (57), resident of Khamla Nagpur, Koradi PSI Dhanorkar booked the accused Sunil Ramgopal Kashyap under Sections 457, 380, 511 of IPC and placed him under arrest.
