A 19-year old boy was caught after a hot chase while fleeing with a stolen Activa and later handed over to police. However, an 18-year old accomplice managed to escape.
According to police, the complainant Rajesh Devidas Siradkar (35), resident of Gondvana Nagar, Plot No. 16, Adivasi Housing Society, Sonegaon, Nagpur had kept his Activa (MH-31/ED 9758) in front of Sandeep Madhukar’s house at Plot no. 15, 16, Banerjee Layout, Bhagwan Nagar. At the same time, the accused Aditya Avinash Tiwari (19), resident of Hudkeshwar and Sheikh Salam Sheikh Hussain (18), resident of Bidipeth conspired and stole the Activa. However, Rajesh Siradkar noticed the theft and launched a hot chase of the accused. Rajesh managed to stop both accused and caught hold of Aditya with the stolen Activa. But Sheikh Salam Sheikh succeeded in dodging Rajesh and escaped the spot.
Ajni police were informed about the incident who reached the scene and arrested Aditya under Sections 379, 34, 511 of the IPC and Sub Section 135 of Mumbai Police Act. Further probe is underway.
