Nagpur: Close on the heels of sensational rape of a 12-year old girl in TB Ward area, another 16-year old girl, a Class X student, was raped by a youth taking advantage of “good friendship” with the victim. This fresh rape incident was reported from Old Bagadganj area of Nandanvan Police Station jurisdiction on Wednesday night. The accused rapist has been arrested.
According to information received by Nagpur Today, the 22-year old accused, Rahul Babanrao Bhivgade, resident of Pardi area, used to visit to the house of his assumed brother in Old Bagadganj locality. During his visits, Rahul got acquainted with the 16-year old girl who was residing in his relative’s house as tenant. As the days passed, the “friendship” took deep roots. However, with nefarious designs in his mind and taking advantage of “good relations” with the girl, the accused Rahul raped her on Sunday night. With the heinous act, the accused threatened to kill the girl if opened her mouth. However, when the victimized girl started feeling excruciating pain in stomach late in the night, she blurted out the brutal act of Rahul to her mother. Taken aback by the development, the girl’s mother approached Nandanvan Police Station early on Monday morning and registered a case against the accused in this regard.
Nandanvan cops, acting on the complaint, acted swiftly and nabbed Rahul Bhivgade from Pardi area on the charges of rape. Further investigations are underway.
